A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices ABA under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT’s primary responsibility is the direct implementation of treatment plans developed by the supervisor. A college degree is NOT REQUIRED.
What is a BCBA?
A Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a graduate-level professional who is trained to provide and supervise ABA. Responsibilities include: conducting functional behavior assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, direct supervision of RBTs, and conducting parent training. BCBAs continually monitor and analyze the outcomes of the behavioral interventions to determine whether adjustments are necessary.
